Share lang nako ni sa inyo mga bro ang sis.
Last January 16, 2009...niabot from Manila ang akong mga order na Ts. Included in the shipment is ang akong order na 2 African Horned Baboon slings (ceratogyrus darlingi). Both are approx 1-inch DLS. unfortunately, one died during shipment. the other one, I decided to keep in my collection na lang.
the horned baboon when it arrived last Jan 2009 @ approx 1-inch DLS
Last March 8, I again took new photos of my Ts, including the Horned Baboon, which is now at approx 2-inch DLS.
Last May 11, 2009...it molted again. Since, ang iyang enclosure is already fully covered with web and pirmi lang siya mag stay sa bottom sa iyang burrow...i didn't notice anything unusual after I pulled out its exuvium. Up to that time I'm still unsure of it's gender...though based on how it looks...I already have a haunch that it's a male.
Then, last night, I decided to re-house some of my Ts to much bigger enclosures, including the horned baboon which is already big for it's current jar enclosure.
Considering that the Horned baboon is aggressive and fast...i just placed it's open jar enclosure inside its new kritter keeper enclosure. I just decided to take out the jar after he starts wandering around his new home the following day.
This morning...I removed the jar from the kritter keeper. For the first time...I can see its entire (supposedly) "juvenile" body. Then, I noticed suspicious details...a pair of now bulbous pedipalps...and Tibial hooks on it's first pair of legs. I just cant believe my eyes. There's no mistaking that my Horned Baboon is now a mature male at under a year old. Unless male Horned Baboons really mature that fast.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what happened here guys?
