Measure by leg span (LS), this is the method commonly used, but the problem is it's not accurate cause the tarantula may not fully stretch their leg every time we measure them, some people may measure the 1st left leg with the last right leg this is called Diagonal Leg span ( DLS ) (example below).

Measuring by BL/BS (Body Length / Body Span) is more accurate but it is not widely used.
